In line with efforts to stimulate local economic growth, improve revenue mobilization, and enhance trading conditions across the district, the Hon. District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bia East, Hon. Francis Amankwaa, has conducted an extensive familiarization and sensitization tour across major market centres within the district.
The comprehensive tour provided Assembly leadership with a first-hand assessment of trading environments, market infrastructure deficits, and immediate operational needs of local traders, farmers, and transport operators.
Accompanied by key officers from the Planning Unit, Environmental Health Department, District Works Department, and Revenue Unit, the Hon. DCE visited several major market hubs, including market grounds in Adabokrom, Camp 15 Junction, Kaase, and surrounding trading communities.
The delegation inspected existing market sheds, storage facilities, drainage systems, and access roads to identify priority areas for Assembly-led rehabilitation and upgrading.

Hon. Francis Amankwaa held interactive open-air sessions with market queens, vendor associations, and local farmers, taking note of their feedback regarding security, lighting, waste management, and stall allocation.
Market women and vendors were sensitized on the importance of maintaining high environmental hygiene standards, adhering to local sanitation bye-laws, and supporting the Assembly through prompt payment of daily market tolls to enable continued infrastructure development.
