About this department
The Health Department works with the Ghana Health Service, health facilities and communities to protect and improve the health of residents.
Its work covers disease surveillance and outbreak response, immunisation and maternal and child health promotion, health education and support to CHPS compounds and clinics.
The Department also collaborates with the Environmental and Sanitation Unit on food hygiene, water quality and sanitation inspections.
