In solidarity with the national call for spiritual unity, peace, and divine guidance, the Bia East District Assembly has observed the 2nd edition of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, an initiative instituted by the President of the Republic of Ghana.

The non-denominational gathering brought together clergy members, Muslim clerics, traditional leaders, Assembly management and staff, security agencies, and residents across the district to offer prayers for the growth, unity, and continuous progress of the district and the nation at large.

The interfaith service was characterized by vibrant songs of praise, scripture readings, Islamic prayers, and intercessory prayer sessions led by local religious leaders. Religious leaders led dedicated prayers for national stability, economic growth, and peaceful co-existence among all Ghanaians. Prayers were offered for the Hon. District Chief Executive (DCE), Management, Assembly Members, and public servants, asking for wisdom, integrity, and strength in executing development projects across Bia East.

The event served as a powerful testament to the religious tolerance and strong communal spirit existing between Christian and Muslim communities within the district.

Speaking at the event, the Hon. DCE and Hon. MP commended the religious bodies and citizens for gathering in large numbers to observe this significant national event. The Hon. DCE indicated that it was appropriate to

“Attribute our success and progress to God through prayer and thanksgiving is essential as we work to build a prosperous district. While we put in the hard administrative and physical work to develop Bia East, seeking divine guidance ensures our efforts bear lasting fruits for our communities.”

Clergymen and Islamic leaders present expressed their support for the presidential initiative, noting that a nation anchored in faith, unity, and thanksgiving remains resilient in the face of challenges. They urged all residents to carry the spirit of peace, love, and patriotism into their daily socio-economic activities.
