About this department
This Department coordinates and promotes social development programmes and policies to improve the welfare of people and communities in the district.
It plans, initiates and coordinates community-based projects, day care centres and services for the rehabilitation of persons with disability.
The Department also mobilises communities for self-help projects, adult literacy and skills training, and represents the Assembly on matters of social and community development.
